2011-2012 Tryout Information

Formed in 1984, the Trevian Soccer Club is a community-based soccer program. Our reputation for producing skilled soccer players is well-known throughout Illinois. TSC is a travel soccer program which requires commitment from our players and families. The philosophy of the TSC is to teach the fundamental techniques of soccer in a fun and competitive environment. The TSC coaching staff is dedicated to the development of each player athletically, technically and tactically.

U8 Program
Our Under-9 program is the foundation of the Trevian Soccer Club with a curriculum aimed at providing a foundation of technical proficiency for future success. The curriculum places a high priority on teaching dribbling, passing and receiving the ball (ball control) and having FUN.
  • Teams will play 7 vs. 7.
  • Teams will have a roster size of 12-14 players.
  • Teams will have two 90-minute practice sessions per week at Willow Park during fall and spring seasons.
  • TSC teams compete against soccer clubs in neighboring communities as well as those in the greater Chicagoland area.
  • All teams will play in a pre-season tournament.
  • Teams will practice indoors once a week and play one game per week at our indoor facilities during the winter season.
U9 and U10 Program
While the majority of the training still emphasizes the development of the basic skills of soccer, small group concepts become part of the curriculum. Teaching is done primarily in the 3 vs. 3 and 4 vs. 4 format and the goal is for every player to master the attacking and defending concepts in 1 vs. 1, 2 vs. 1, and 2 vs. 2 situations.
  • Teams will play 7 vs. 7.
  • Teams will have a roster size of 12-14 players.
  • Teams will have two 90-minute practice sessions per week at Willow Park during fall and spring seasons.
  • TSC teams compete against soccer clubs in neighboring communities as well as those in the greater Chicagoland area.
  • All teams will play in a pre-season tournament. In addition, teams will participate in 1-2 additional tournaments throughout the year.
  • Teams will practice indoors once a week and play one game per week at our indoor facilities during the indoor season.
U11 and U12 Program
At the U11-U12 age group, technical and tactical training are equal parts of the curriculum. Players are exposed to different tactical formations and positions as part of the complete development of each player. Speed, agility, and endurance become part of the curriculum as TSC continues to strive to develop the complete player. Players are held accountable for their responsibilities to the team, including commitment and giving maximum effort at every practice and game.

  • Teams will have a roster size of 14-16 players.
  • Teams will have two 90-minute practice sessions per week at Loyola Academy or Willow Park during fall and spring seasons.
  • TSC teams compete against soccer clubs in neighboring communities as well as those in the greater Chicagoland area.
  • All teams will play in a pre-season tournament. In addition, teams will participate in 1-2 additional tournaments throughout the year.
  • Teams will practice indoors once a week and play one game per week at our indoor facilities during the indoor season.
TSC Outdoor Seasons
Begins with August training; league games run 10 weeks in the fall from early September to mid-November and 10 weeks in the spring from early April to mid-June. Girls will play outdoor league games on Sundays. Boys will play outdoor league games on Saturdays.

TSC Indoor Season
Season runs 10 weeks in the winter from early January to mid-March.

Trevian Soccer Club is proud to continue the tradition of providing skilled soccer players to the successful New Trier High School Boys and Girls Programs.  TSC provided over 90% of players for New Trier's 2010/2011 Varsity Boys and Girls teams.
